Effortless Mantra Meditation.Modern, accessible, your own.
A simple meditation practice with an inner sound

The practice
You don't need to concentrate, stop your thoughts or become especially calm. The technique takes you beneath the usual surface of thinking and opens a more reliable way to what is already there in you.

What you experience with your eyes closed is only part of it. More interesting is what changes with your eyes open: in your decisions, relationships, habits and the way you handle everyday life.
- mantra meditation with Vedic roots
- yours to practise on your own after the course
- no concentrating, no emptying your mind
- no lasting dependence on an app
- 2 × 20 minutes a day as the recommended practice

Why I do this
Meditation has been a steady part of my life for many years, as natural as sleep, movement or good food.

It gives me a more reliable contact with what is really there right now and with what comes next.
At 1 Giant Mind I learned to teach the technique. What drives me: more people should be able to learn meditation, free of pressure to perform, dogma or dependence on an app or a teacher.

Your next step
How the technique works
We learn an effortless meditation technique from the Vedic tradition: the 1 Giant Mind Being Technique.
You use a specific inner sound, the mantra. It is not something to concentrate on.

Thoughts are welcome. When you notice you're following a thought, you gently come back to the mantra.
Along the way, your attention can move from the busy surface of thinking to subtler levels. You don't have to make this happen or control it. In the Vedic tradition, this movement is also called transcending.
The practice is meant to be used in the middle of everyday life. You learn a technique you can practise on your own after the course, with no recording to listen to.
From the surface into the depth
A simple map of effortless Being meditation
From the surface into the depth: A simple map of effortless Being meditation
- The surface of life, everyday experience. Above it: stress can release, that is tension, worries, overwhelm, inner restlessness.
- 180 degrees inward: attention turns from the outside to the inside.
- Mantra: a specific inner sound, no controlling, no concentrating. It becomes subtler, from thought to vibration to a subtle impulse.
- Mind with subtler levels: intellect, feelings, subtler thoughts. Awareness can expand.
- Body and matter with subtler levels: forces, molecules, atoms, particles.
- At the very bottom stillness, Being, presence: silent wakefulness, simply being, peace, energy, love; the intelligence of nature, the source of creativity, home of all laws of nature; Atma as the Self, Brahman as the totality, Being, source, unity.
Jonas' map, from the Vedic tradition
Skip the mapWhy this matters in everyday life
- at work
Maybe you have plenty of options at work and still don't know which direction is really right.
- in relationships
Maybe you react faster than you'd like in your relationships and only later realise what you actually wanted to say.
- in your body
Maybe you know what's good for your body, yet act differently in tense moments.
Meditation can help you notice yourself better in moments like these:
- What's on your mind?
- What do you need?
- What do you want to do?
What comes out of it shows up afterwards in your life. Maybe you say something out loud, set a boundary or consciously choose a new direction.
Being sceptical is completely fine. This is about trying it out; belief isn't required.
Who the practice might suit
The practice might suit you if you:
- want to learn to meditate on your own instead of following a recording forever
- think, sense or carry a lot and are looking for a more reliable way inward
- already know yoga, therapy or other kinds of inner work but miss a simple daily practice
- would rather experience the technique yourself than believe in something
- are ready to practise for about 20 minutes twice a day
What you need
No previous experience is needed. Comfortable clothes and a willingness to give the technique a try are enough.
In-person courses take place in a small, personal setting in 50823 Cologne. There is no dedicated parking; the Neptun car park is close by.
What you can expect
Over three sessions you get to know the technique step by step.
We meditate together, talk about your experiences and go through the typical questions that come up at the beginning.
After the course you know how to keep practising on your own. You can still ask questions afterwards, refresh your technique and join group meditations.
Frequently asked questions
Can I meditate even though my mind never stops?
Yes. You don't need an empty mind to start. Thoughts are part of the experience. In the course you learn how to handle them without pushing them away or reading meaning into every one.
Do I have to be spiritual?
You don't need any particular worldview. The practice has Vedic roots that matter to me. You can get to know them and keep your own beliefs at the same time. Your questions and your scepticism are welcome.
What does “effortless” mean in practice?
During meditation you don't try to control your thoughts or create a special experience. You learn a simple way of being with an inner sound. Making time for it regularly still takes a conscious decision.
How do I notice in daily life whether the practice helps me?
Look at concrete situations: How do you react in an argument? Do you notice earlier that you need a break? Do you say what matters to you? Change can look different for everyone. A single calm or restless meditation isn't a reliable measure.
What happens if I fall out of the routine?
You can simply start again without making up for missed meditations. If you've become unsure, you can ask questions or refresh the technique with me. Together we'll look at how the practice can fit into your life again.
What do I learn with you that an app can't give me?
An app can be a good way in. In a personal course you can talk about your experiences and ask directly. Over three sessions we learn and practise together, so that you can then meditate on your own. And afterwards you're not left alone with your questions.

How the price comes together
To me personally, this practice is worth far more than the price of this course. If I had to name an amount I'd pay today so as not to lose this meditation from my life, it would be many times that. For me it was and is life-changing.
At the same time, the price isn't meant to reflect what meditation is worth in a life. It creates a clear, fair setting in which you can learn the practice properly and then keep practising on your own.
The technique itself is simple. The course is more than information, though: it is a guided, tried-and-tested start into a technique you weave into your life.
The price includes:
- 3 course sessions together
- personal guidance and room for questions
- preparation, follow-up and organisation
- my own daily meditation practice
- my training as a meditation teacher
- ongoing training and deepening of my practice
- a small, clear setting in which you can really begin
- lifelong access to questions, a refresher of the technique and group meditations online
Part of the price allows me to remain a student myself. Anyone learning meditation can expect their teacher to keep practising, learning and growing, beyond passing on knowledge.
For me, one course means roughly:
| Part | Time / share |
|---|---|
| 3 course sessions | approx. 4.5 hours |
| Preparation | approx. 1–2 hours |
| Follow-up & communication | approx. 1 hour |
| Organisation & holding the space | approx. 1–2 hours |
| Training & my own deepening | ongoing share |
| Total effort per course | approx. 7.5–9.5 hours + share for deepening |
With a small group, this makes for a fair setting: enough commitment for you, enough accessibility for people who want to start, and enough appreciation for the work behind it.
That way the course stays accessible without the work behind it becoming invisible.
After the course
Your meditation, twice a day.
After the course you meditate on your own, morning and evening. My app takes care of the time, so you can stay with yourself.
In the morning, before the day starts
One tap, and your 20 minutes with 2 minutes of rest begin. Just as you learned in the course.
On the train, screen off
The sounds still come, in your headphones too. You don't need to check how much time is left.
On your wrist
At the end there's a gentle tap. You open your eyes at your own pace.
The first twelve days
A short thought from me for each practice day. The app counts the days you meditate and leaves the others be.
You receive your mantra personally in the course. The app keeps the time for you.
